‘You Are The Father Of Corruption In Africa’- Fayose Blasts Obasanjo

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose has launched yet another verbal attack on former President Olusegun Obasanjo, describing him as the father of corruption in Africa.
Fayose warned Obasanjo to stop deceiving the world with his anti-corruption sermons.
Governor Fayose, was reacting to a recent comment attributed to Obasanjo when he said African leaders should ensure that treasury looters are exposed.
He also warned former Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice Mohammed Adoke to stop mentioning his name in the controversial $1.09 billion Malabu Oil deal.
He said the former President should rather explain to Nigerians the source of his stupendous wealth and stop parading himself as a saint.
In a statement issued on Thursday, by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose said it smacked of the highest level of hypocrisy for Obasanjo to be preaching against corruption when he was currenting sitting on stolen wealth.
He said, “the former president is the father of corruption in Nigeria, who sits on stolen wealth. He lacks moral rights to accuse anyone of corruption and I challenge him to explain to Nigerians the source of his stupendous wealth.”
Fayose noted that the former President must come out clean on his roles in the controversial $1.09 billion Malabu Oil deal, instead of warning former Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice Mohammed Adoke to stop mentioning his name in the deal.
“It is on record that the out-of-court settlement on the controversial Malabu Oil Block was initiated in 2006 during Obasanjo’s administration”, he said.
Governor Fayose, who maintained that Obasanjo’s accusing anyone of corruption was like “Oyenusi accusing Shina Rambo of armed robbery”, added that “We saw how Obasanjo was when he became president and the magnitude of both direct and indirect investments that he has now.
“Can he in all honesty tell Nigerians that he acquired his wealth through legitimate means?”
Describing Obasanjo as the fathers of corruption in the present day Nigeria, he said: “Even the National Assembly affirmed him (Obasanjo) as the grandfather of corruption in Nigeria and it is on record that it was this same Obasanjo, who is always claiming holier than thou that introduced politics of ghana-must-go bags to the National Assembly.
“Has Obasanjo forgotten how many billions of naira was deployed to lobby National Assembly members to support his third term agenda?”

JAMB: Awaiting Result Candidates Are Eligible For UTME

Candidates, who have yet to receive their West African Senior School Certificate Examinations’ results, are eligible to register for the forthcoming Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, said on Thursday.
The organisation said the clarification became necessary following the misinterpretations by many people of a press statement about its recently-concluded restructuring exercise.
The spokesperson for JAMB, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, said in Abuja that candidates, who failed to upload their results between May and August, would not be confirmed for admission into any tertiary institution.
Benjamin stated, “Nigerians are still not clear whether candidates with awaiting results will sit the UTME examinations or not. Now, we want to make it categorically clear that candidates with awaiting results are eligible to register and sit our examinations.
“However, JAMB will not confirm any admission for any candidate with awaiting result. All candidates, who are desirous of tertiary education, are to upload their O’ Level results on our website.
“We don’t want to give admissions to candidates that are not qualified to be admitted. It has been discovered over time that most of the times, when these candidates are admitted, they don’t meet the requirements.
“You have from May up to August to upload your results. At the point of admission, we would have sieved our records and any candidate, who has not uploaded his or her result at that point, is not eligible for admission.
“We have a good number of candidates who have sat their exams in years past and they have their results ready, waiting for this process; we will factor those ones and the few ones that will get their results before August.
“We are not working for those that will be sitting their exams. But if by chance, you write your O’ Level examinations and the UTME this year and your result is ready, good for you.”
Benjamin added that candidates, who are not computer literate, had a choice of applying for the UTME mock examination at a fee of N700.
He explained that the UTME mock examination was optional and aimed at allowing candidates had a feel of the Computer Based Test, especially those not familiar with the CBT process.

Magu is victim of ‘civil war’ in Buhari’s corrupt kitchen cabinet – Senator

President Muhammadu Buhari meets with Ministers and APC leaders
The Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has said there are corrupt power blocs in the presidency whose “civil war” cost Ibrahim Magu his confirmation as the substantive chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Speaking when he received representatives of the National Association of Muslim Law Students in his office on Thursday, Mr. Sani became another elite voice to have raised concern about the President Muhammadu Buhari’s effective control of his government where his close allies and aides engage in open rivalry and crossfire.
Two former leaders of the country, told PREMIUM TIMES, speaking on strict condition of anonymity, that Mr. Buhari had lost control of his government and should consider overhauling his administration, after the State Security Service again blocked the confirmation of Mr. Magu, brushing aside the President’s clearance in letter to the Senate in January.
The Senate rejected the re-nomination of Mr. Magu on Wednesday, after the SSS reaffirmed its position the acting EFCC chairman will constitute liability to the anti-corruption campaign of the administration because he lacks integrity.
But Mr. Sani said: “Magu is a victim of the civil war between in the President’s kitchen cabinet. It is high time the President stood his feet to stop power blocs who are desirous of undermining and subverting his efforts.”
On Thursday, Sahara Reporters published excerpts from a leaked memo Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State sent the President, saying “in blunt terms” the Buhari’s administration was not delivering on promises made to Nigerians and accusing the Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation of being clueless and inexperienced.
He said Mr. Buhari had made progress in the fight against corruption to “good degree’ and also degraded Boko Haram.
“But Buhari is alone in the fight against corruption in the sense there are many persons around him who are corrupt.
“They did not declare their assets publicly like the President, Osinbajo and myself, hiding under the secrecy law,” Mr. Sani said.
An ad-hoc committee headed by Mr. Sani last year indicted the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, for breaching the country’s law in respect of ‘grass cutting” contract awarded by the Presidential Initiative on the North East, prompting the Senate to ask the President to sack and ensure prosecution of the SGF.
But the president wrote back to the Senate, clearing Mr. Lawal with claims the SGF was not given fair hearing and that the report of the committee was a minority one.
Mr. Sani then hit back at the President and accused him of bias in the fight against corruption.
Mr. Sani said, “the Eight Senate is not “rubber stamp Senate, but it is also not dagger or sword Senate.”
Advising the visiting students who asked him to talk to them on activism, Mr. Sani said the future of the country belongs to youth who should hold the leaders to account and be responsible.
He also urged action against religious extremism and ethnic tension.

‘Arsenal May Not Make Top Four’- Arsene Wenger Says

Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger, has hinted that his side may find it difficult making the top four in the Premier League this season.
League leaders Chelsea, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspurs, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United are all vying for four Champions League places.
Arsenal have already dropped from the top four with Manchester United chasing closely.
He noted that he is well aware of the threat West Brom pose to his team’s top four ambitions.
He told news conference “They are experienced, organised and efficient from set pieces. This season they have done very well in midfield and up front.
“It is a balanced team with good size, very equipped to deal with the Premier League.
“This season they’ve done very well in midfield. They have played very well, and up front they have Hal Robson-Kanu and Salomon Rondon who have done very well for them as well.
“It’s a very balanced team with a good size who are equipped to deal with the Premier League.
“It’s true that it is tough because West Brom is traditionally always a very difficult game, but as well it’s an opportunity for us to come back to the position that is much closer to Chelsea.
“It’s a strange championship because there’s no continuity at the moment – we’ve had games cancelled, then after you play away, you don’t play, you play FA Cup and you play away again.
“So you don’t really know where you stand. You don’t have the same number of games, you don’t have the continuity home and away. What is for sure is that we are in a position where we can’t waste points.
“We want to play in the Champions League next season. We have a tough job because we have six or seven teams fighting for the places and how well we do until the end of the season will of course depend on that.
“On the rest, we are in the semi-finals of the FA Cup, we have an opportunity to do that as well. So overall those are our targets. After that, success is basically to take the maximum out of the potential of the team. Where is that? We will see.”

‘Jamie Vardy Is A Cheat’- Sami Nasri Blasts

Sevilla midfielder Samir Nasri has accused Jamie Vardy of cheating following his red card in Leicester’s Champions League victory on Tuesday.
Nasri, 29, was dismissed for a second yellow card in Sevilla’s 2-0 last-16 second-leg defeat, as the Foxes reached the quarter-finals 3-2 on aggregate.
Nasri and Vardy clashed in the second half and were booked for butting heads.
But the on-loan Manchester City star believes Vardy’s response convinced referee Daniele Orsato to take action.
“For me he’s a cheat because if he was a foreign player you, the English press, would be saying he’s a cheat,” he said.
“They were winning 2-0, play the game like a man. You are not better than us but you are winning 2-0 and will qualify, just play the game.”
But England striker Vardy refuted Nasri’s allegation, saying: “I’m not a cheat and I never have been. That’s all I’ve got to say on the matter.”
A Leicester spokesman added: “The club refutes entirely any allegation that questions the professional integrity of Jamie or any of its players.”

Apostle Suleman Sex Scandal: Nollywood actress Daniella Okeke breaks silence

Controversial Nollywood actress, Daniella Okeke, whose name has been mentioned several times in the ongoing Apostle Suleman’s sex scandal with Stephanie Otobo has finally reacted.
It has been alleged that Mr. Suleman acquired a N160 million duplex located in Mende Maryland, Lagos and a $76,000 brand-new Mercedes-Benz 450 GL for the curvaceous actress and that they had been neck deep in a relationship.
Writing on her Instagram page which has been made private since Stephanie named her in the ongoing scandal, Daniella says she has been talking to her lawyers and that they will respond on her behalf.
She wrote, “In adherence to my lawyer’s counsel I have been mute since I read some funny fallacies. My lawyers will do the talking but for sure a lot of people will go down for getting my name involved in something I had no business with.so be careful about what you say or write about me my being mute is for legal reasons. Lies I have not spoken to anyone on the phone or made any comment on any social media platform to any media house or blogger. So, please stop all these fake lies and stories.”
According to a report published by Sahara Reporters, popular Lagos-based fashion designer, Adebayo David Eweje aka David Wej, initially owned Daniella’s house before it was sold.
Sahara Reporters reports that after buying the house, Mr. Suleman renovated it with N120 million before handing it over to the actress.
The actress showcased the property, which has two duplexes last year on Instagram. The property is located on Alabi Street, off Okey Okeke Drive in Arowojobe Estate in the Mende-Maryland area of Lagos.
When contacted, Eweje said he sold the duplex before 2013 but he has no idea to whom the house was sold.
With less than 30 films to her credit, Daniella has remained one of Nollywood’s star actresses. With a high-end boutique, Dope Accessories, located in Lekki Lagos, a fleet of luxury cars and a jet-set lifestyle, she is one of Nollywood’s most bankable actresses.
Also a producer, entrepreneur and the CEO of Dcovi Entertainment Company, she has a penchant for acquiring luxury items. In 2014 she bought a $5,700 Vertu Constellation phone.
She posted the photo of her cars parked inside her Lekki mansion in 2014 and wrote: “She never said she was the richest but she is far from broke.”
She also bought a G-Wagon Benz and flaunted a Range Rover SUV in December 2015 to celebrate Christmas in style. Better known for her ostentatious display of wealth on Instagram than for her acting prowess, the hitherto outspoken actress has kept a low profile since the scandal broke out.
Daniella shot into prominence in 2013 for her role in Lagos Cougars.
Meanwhile, the man at the centre of the controversies, Apostle Suleman is currently in the United States on a 4-day ministration tagged Power Explosions. The program, which kicked off on Tuesday, will hold in D.C., Virginia, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Philadelphia.
His teeming church faithful and supporters on social media have shared photographs of his arrival in the U.S.
Mr. Suleman has since denied having a relationship with Miss Otobo.
According to a statement by his spokesman, Phrank Shaibu, the pastor denied ever meeting the woman in person, or making any marriage proposal to her. He also denied being involved in Ms. Otobo’s reported arrest on March 3.
But, two letters published quoted Ms. Otobo’s lawyer, Festus Keyamo, as saying that the Canada-based Nigerian started a relationship with Mr. Suleman in 2015 and became pregnant for him in 2016
Meanwhile, barely a week after Miss Otobo claimed she was in a sexual relationship with the apostle, another lady has also said she was in a similar sexual relationship with the cleric.
The lady, who identified herself as Queen Esther, said she began a sexual relationship with Mr. Suleman (popularly known as Apostle Suleman) in 2013 before a “catastrophic break-up” a year later.
Ms. Esther told PREMIUM TIMES that Mr. Suleman’s wife got to know about her affair with the cleric, a reason for her decision to end the relationship.
Ms. Esther turned down PREMIUM TIMES’ request to produce her photograph – or her real identity – saying she wants to first seek the protection of the Kaduna State Government from Mr. Suleman and “his team of magicians.

Trump blasts rapper Snoop Dogg for music video

Snoop Dogg
U.S. President Donald Trump blasted Snoop Dogg on Wednesday for a music video that shows the rapper shooting a gun at a clown that resembles the president.
“Can you imagine what the outcry would be if @SnoopDogg, failing career and all, had aimed and fired the gun at President Obama? Jail time!” Trump wrote on Twitter.
The video for a remix of the song “Lavender (Nightfall Remix)” shows the rapper approaching the Trump clown and pulling the trigger of a gun.
A small flag pops out of the weapon with the word “bang” as the sound of a real gun is heard in the background.
Threats to kill or injure the president are illegal under federal law and are punishable with fines or up to five years in prison.
It is unclear whether the video would be considered a violation of the law and the Secret Service told dpa that they were aware of the video.
